Tesfa Community School

Tesfa Community School exists so children in Ethiopia can learn in a safe, nurturing environment and build a future filled with opportunity. With caring staff and a strong foundation in early learning, Tesfa is creating a place where children are known, supported, and equipped to thrive.

In many communities, families want their children in school but face real barriers, including limited access to quality classrooms and resources. Tesfa Community School is meeting that need by providing consistent instruction, a stable learning environment, and a pathway for children to continue their education year after year.

Tesfa currently serves students from preschool through 1st grade, with two classes per grade and approximately 30 to 40 students in each class. The demand is high, and there is a significant waitlist.

To support children well, each lower grade is staffed with a full-time teacher, a full-time aid, and a full-time nanny. This structure helps create a classroom culture where students receive attention, encouragement, and the support they need to learn.

We are building Tesfa one grade at a time. The goal is to expand from grades 1 through 6, adding one grade each year as funding allows. With additional grant support, expansion can happen faster.

There are several meaningful ways to support Tesfa Community School:

  • Give toward monthly operating costs to keep classrooms running
  • Sponsor a classroom need (supplies, learning materials, student essentials)
  • Help fund expansion as we add new grades
  • Share Tesfa’s story with your community to invite others into the impact

When you support Tesfa Community School, you are investing in children, families, and a stronger future. Thank you for being part of a story that is changing lives through education.
